"Interregional Distribution Grid Company of North-West”, JSC since 1 April 2008 has been operating as a united operational company (earlier, it was a 100 %-affiliated company of RAO UES of Russia). Its structure includes seven branches: Arkhenergo, Vologdaenergo, Karelenergo, Kolenergo, Komienergo, Novgorodenergo, and Pskovenergo.
IDGC of North-West was registered in December 2004. Service territory of the company is 1.58 million sq. km with the population of nearby 6.3 million people. The total length of overhead and cable power transmission lines is 169,6 thousand km. Amount of 35 kV substations and those of higher voltage held in the company inventory equals 1,145 pieces; the installed capacity of power transformers of substations is 17.8 thousand MVA.
The authorized capital is RUR 9,5786 billion. The State owns 55,4 % of IDGC of North-West’s share capital.
The General Director of IDGC of North-West is Alexander Markovich Kukhmay.

The Company’s Mission and Strategy
Within the limits of the tasks set forth by Russia's Energy Strategy to the electric power industry, IDGC of North-West sees its mission in maintenance of reliable and uninterrupted power supplies to consumers, shareholders' stable income by means of efficient management by the distribution grid complex on the basis of uniform conceptual approaches to business dealing.
The Company's strategy is based on the following principles:
- to increase efficiency of primary activities;
- to observe interests of all shareholders of IDGC of North-West;
- to improve corporate governance, increase transparency of financial and economic activities;
- to create the most comfortable conditions for consumers;
- to increase the company's social responsibility constantly.
IDGC of North-West's strategic goals of development
- Organization of the management system providing steady operation of the electric power complex of IDGC of North-West;
- Interaction with authorities of the constituent entities of the Federation concerning development of the electric grid complex of the regions, establishment of the economically proved tariffs for electric power transmission and technological connection;
- Effective forecasting of the demand for capacity and electric power;
- Maintenance of supplies of capacity to the grid and creation of conditions for reliable electric power supplies of consumers;
- Maintenance of non-discriminatory access to electric networks for all participants of the power supply process in the territory of the Northwest Federal District;
- Maintenance of duly and qualitative technological connection of consumers to the company's electric networks;
- Developing constructive proposals within the limits of the uniform technical policy, overcoming the tendency of ageing of the fixed capital of electric networks and network equipment due to increase in scales on their reconstruction and modernization;
- Development of the centralized technological administration by electric networks;
- Creation of network and technological infrastructure which corresponds to the functioning of the competitive electric power market;
- Bringing of the technological level of distribution networks up to the world standards;
- Decrease in the level of losses in distribution networks and specific charges for equipment maintenance;
