During the meeting, representatives of “Karelenergo”, a branch of IDGC of North-West, JSC, as well as INTER RAO UES and “Lammaisten Energia OY” Finnish Company have discussed a possibility to organize a 110 kV Karelia-Finland energy bridge aimed at mutually beneficial electric energy purchase and sale.

Preliminary estimation has shows that the possibility of electric energy export is present. To specify parameters of application for technological connection of “Karelenergo” electric grids, INTER RAO UES as a coordinating organization in the project, is necessary to send an application to IDGC of North-West, JSC for technical parameters of “Karelenergo” electric grids operation regarding West Karelia.

This summer, a decision on making the application for technical connection to “Karelenergo” electric grids is to be adopted due to results of specified estimation of possibility to create “Karelia Energy Bridge”.
